Levi Holmes

            Levi Newell Holmes loves food and to cook.  His favorite type of food is Italian food.  Levi hopes to a chef one day.   He likes to help out his parents at home to cook food.  His favorite Italian restaurant is Montano’s.  Also he wants to visit Italy for a vacation.  “I want to see the old unique buildings and try the delicious food,” said Levi.

                        Levi Holmes (14) was born on November 21, 2001 in Roanoke, Virginia.  He has a mom name Gina and a dad named Gordon.  A strange thing to know about his parents are that they are both nurses, his mom at Lucy Addison Middle school and his dad at Carillion.  Levi also has a brother named Jacob that is 19.  He also has two dogs Sophie and Jimmy.

Ayda Khanehzarrin

Ayda Khanehzarria lived in Iran. Ayda moved to America when she was 6. Her parents had to flee the country because they are Bahai. “Being bahai while in Iran was really bad,” said Ayda.

Ayda Khanehzarrin is a 15 year old freshman at Hidden Valley High School. She was born on August 21, 2001. Her dream job is to one day be an engineer.  Ayda has an older brother called Houman (17).She one day wants to go to Virginia Tech as an engineer.

Grayson Carroll

          Grayson Carroll was terrified at Scaremare last year.  Last October in Lynchburg, he went to Scaremare with a couple of his friends.  Nothing had really scared him until the end of the maze when he saw a scary man with a chainsaw staring at him.  Then all of a sudden the dude was chasing him around.  “It was just creepy when the guy chased me with the chainsaw,” said Grayson.

            Grayson Carroll was born on October fourth, two thousand and one.  His parents are Andy and Leanne Carroll and his two brothers are Ashton and Canyon.  He originally lived in Richmond but then moved to Roanoke at the age of four.  He went to Glenvar Elementary, then Hidden Valley Middle school.  He hopes to go to North Carolina College and become a gym teacher.

Stephen Bell

 Stephen Bell has had a nightmare that predicted the future. Stephen one night had a nightmare that his mother’s house got robbed little did he know it would actually happen to his dad. A few months later his Dad’s apartment was robbed by an unknown robber. All his belongings were gone but luckily most of the things stolen were covered by insurance and neither his father nor Stephen was there.

 Stephen Bell is a 14 yr. old Hidden Valley High school student that has lived in Roanoke all his life. Stephen’s family consists of his older sister Katy (21) his mother Stephanie and his Father Robert. Stephen’s favorite sport is football because he likes contact sports. When I asked him if he could have any animal as a pet he said “I would have black and white Bengal tiger because it would seem like a good guard animal,”.

Caleb Jack Burgess

Caleb jack burgess plays football for hidden valley high school. Caleb has played football for nine years (since the age of 5). His position on the team is defensive tackle, he likes that position because he gets to tackle the quarter back. His best game so far was against William bird (9/1/16).It was a big deal because they are amazing! Caleb wants to become a professional football player, because he says “it’s a beautiful sport!”

Caleb was born march 7, 2002 he was born in Roanoke Virginia. His mom, Casey, works at Verizon & his dad, William, works at the post office. He has 7 siblings: Cedrick,20,  joel,16, marqui,14,turiq,10, Xavier,8, Adrian,6, neavah,1! He has 1 dog named pinkey & 1 cat named cupcake.

Iryan Sisson

Iryan got run over by a car that his mom was driving. Both of his legs got run over and he said, “Amazingly I didn’t get paralyzed.” He was 6 years old when he got ran over. His mom was driving a Dodge Neon and after the incident occurred she felt terrible.

Iryan Sisson is 14 year old boy who goes to Hidden Valley High School. His nickname is “speedy.” He was born on January 17, 2002. He went to Oak Grove and Hidden Valley Middle School. Iryan is an only child. When he gets older he wants to be a Marine tank driver and doesn’t want to go to college. His dad’s name is Troy and he works for the military. His mom’s name is Shana and she works at Kopper’s. He has 2 cats and their names are Anikin and Grevious.

Kaylyn Renee Thomas

A fight between Hannah and Kaylyn broke out at Kaylyn’s cousin’s house. “I’m just happy I just won,” Kaylyn said. Kaylyn threw the first punch that triggered the fight. When Hannah grabbed Kaylyn’s hair she went irate. After a few punches flew by Kaylyn grabbed Hannah’s hair, at that point Hannah was losing and she ran away.

Kaylyn Thomas, also known as “KK” or “Kat” was born on October 11^th 2001. At HVMS in Roanoke VA, she wanted to be a doctor since middle school. She wants to go to college at Virginia Tech. She wants to save for college during high school. She wants to graduate with a medical degree to become a doctor.

Kat has many family members. Kat has three brothers, one of the brothers is named Michael, and he is 13 years old. Her second brother is named Romello, and he is 21 years old. Her third brother is Jay, and he is 27 years old. Kat has one sister, and her name is Tenaj, and she is 12years old

Lindsey Powell

Lindsey Powell’s plans on being a veterinarian when she is older. She wants to be a veterinarian when she is older because she really likes dogs and cats specifically. She wants to go to vet school in college at Virginia Tech.  She wants to be a veterinarian for mainly domestic animals. “I really just like helping animals,” Said Lindsey.

Lindsey was born on June 3^rd, 2002. She was born in Roanoke and has lived here her whole life. She started off school at Green Valley Elementary, then went to Hidden Valley Middle School. Most people call her Linnie instead of Lindsey. She has one older sister and her name is Jessica Powell. Her Mom’s name is Robin and she is a social worker. Her dad’s name is Chris and he is a contractor. She has a Basset Hound, and her name is Daisy.

CJ Williams

Clifton Jerome Williams otherwise known as CJ, plays basketball for Hidden Valley High School. He started playing Basketball because his dad forced him to, he originally did not want to play basketball and even cried about it when his dad made him. But through about 3 years he has grown to love the sport, and it is currently all he plays. He is trying to get better at basketball to hopefully at one point get offered a scholarship, and he is very serious about it. “I have so much passion it seems like I’m mad when I play, but I’m just having fun,” Said CJ.

CJ, born on March 16^th in Brooklyn is now 14 living in Roanoke Virginia. He has a brother named Anthony, and two sisters named Ashly and Faith. His parents are Cliff and Tephine. Cliff owns a moving business and Tephine works at wells fargo. He hates racism and if he could be any color he would be black. His biggest fear is coming home to a dead family.

Gabe Hobbs

Gabe Hobbs is a very interesting person, Gabe loves to play the piano. Gabe said, “It’s easy to play and I got it pretty fast it sort of came natural.” He says he loves the way music is played on the piano. He has been playing for 2 years. He says he can play anything you name it and he`ll play it.

Gabe was born on July 18 in Roanoke VA. He has lived in Roanoke his whole life. He is an only child. Before he went to Hidden Valley High School he went Hidden Valley Middle School.  His favorite college is VT, he doesn’t know yet want he wants to do when he gets older.

Che'lynn Hairston

                Chélynn Hairston aspires to be a MUA/Cosmetologist when she is an adult. Coincidently, she wants to pursue her mother’s profession. Even though she hasn’t had this interest for that long, the practice she does on herself and her older sister improved her skills quickly. The 2016 world wide makeup trend also influenced her interest. She says, “I saw a picture of this girl with these shapely, thick but tapered eyebrows and I looked in the mirror and thought mine were absolute trash compared to hers. Then I realized it was up to me to do something about it.”

                She was born on August 8, 2002, in Roanoke, Virginia. She’s 14 now, but when she was about 7 years old she left her beloved hometown and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where one half of her family already lived. She attended Brier Creek Elementary for 3 years, then moved back to Roanoke and attended Oak Grove Elementary again. She did all three years of middle school at HVMS, and now she attends hidden valley high as a freshman.

Kira Nicole McCallum

Kira Mccallum attended at every elementary school in Johnson City, Tennessee. There was about 8 or 9 elementary schools in Johnson City so she had to move a lot. She did not like moving around a bunch because it was stressful and just too much moving in general. The only good thing about moving she said was, “I liked meeting new people.”

Kira was born on November 3, 2001. She was born in Abington, Virgin, then after a few years she moved to Johnson City, Tennessee. She lived in Tennessee until she was in 8^th grade and moved to Roanoke, Virginia. Back in Tennessee she had 15 dogs, 3 ducks, 5 hamsters, and 2 chickens, but they left all their pets back in Tennessee. She lives with her grandparents and her siblings, her grandparents names are Veronica and George.    

Josiah Cotton

          Josiah David Cotton scared of his brother Gavin getting shot over seas in Qater. Josiah has three older brothers, Gavin, 21, Ryan, 21, and Roman, 23. Only one of them is in the National Guard. I asked him what his biggest fear was and he said, “My biggest fear is my brother getting shot over seas”. I then asked why this is his biggest fear and he said, “Because, he’s my flesh and blood.”

          Josiah was born on October 5^th, 2001 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He lived there for five years and then moved to Roanoke, VA where he attended Oak Grove Elem. School, then Green Valley Elem. School. When he graduates High school he wants to go to western because that’s where all three of his brothers went. Right now his Dad, Douglas Cotton, 42, works at Lowes on night shift, while his Mom, Rebecca Cotton, 42, works at City schools. So Josiah is just a normal kid who likes eating Taco Bell and playing games on the computer and binge watching movies.

Lucas Musselman

          Lucas Musselman is from South Africa. He is from the country Lesotho. Lucas was adopted at the age of 4. “Being adopted at such a young age is hard to remember the place or language,” Lucas said. He also said, “It was good living there because my friends were there, and I miss them.”

          Lucas is 15 years old, he was born August 15^th 2001. Lucas goes by the nickname “Chief Keef”. Lucas has 3 sisters and 4 brothers. His sister’s names are Janet, Peaches, and Linzie. His brother’s names are Nathen, Matt, Nelson, and Deven. Lucas also has 2 pets, their names are Dumb and Spot. In conclusion, Lucas has a really big family that loves him a lot.
