Chélynn Hairston
aspires to be a MUA/Cosmetologist when she is an adult. Coincidently, she wants
to pursue her mother’s profession. Even though she hasn’t had this interest for
that long, the practice she does on herself and her older sister improved her
skills quickly. The 2016 world wide makeup trend also influenced her interest.
She says, “I saw a picture of this girl with these shapely, thick but tapered
eyebrows and I looked in the mirror and thought mine were absolute trash
compared to hers. Then I realized it was up to me to do something about it.”
She was
born on August 8, 2002, in Roanoke, Virginia. She’s 14 now, but when she was
about 7 years old she left her beloved hometown and moved to Raleigh, North
Carolina where one half of her family already lived. She attended Brier Creek
Elementary for 3 years, then moved back to Roanoke and attended Oak Grove
Elementary again. She did all three years of middle school at HVMS, and now she
attends hidden valley high as a freshman.
